Q:	Why has MAT Industries issued a recall?
A:	It is possible that the internal terminals of the pressure switch can come in contact with the motor housing causing electrification of the air compressor, posing a shock hazard to consumers.
Q:	What product is being recalled?
A:	This recall involves 2 gallon, 120-volt, air compressors, operating pressure maximum of 100 PSI and air delivery of .4 SCFM at 90 psi, offered in one unique configuration whereby two 1-gallon tanks are stacked upon each other. The units sold under the HDX™ and Powermate® brand names.
Q:	How many units are affected?
A:	About 100,000 in the United States and 7,000 in Canada
Q:	Have there been any reports of injury from this issue?
A:	MAT Industries has received no reports of any injuries as a result of this issue.
Q:	Where was the affected air compressor models sold?
A:	The Powermate 2 gallon air compressors were sold in the U.S. and Canada directly through a variety of retailers. The HDX 2 gallon air compressor was sold exclusively by Home Depot.
Q:	What should I do if I think my product has been recalled?
A:	Consumers should contact MAT Industries Recall Hotline at (855) 922-2300 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. CST Monday through Friday. Please have your serial number readily available when you speak to a MAT representative for further instructions regarding repair of your air compressor.
Q:	Are recalled products still on the shelves at the above retail locations?
A:	All of the affected products were pulled from store shelves.
